Daniels presentation will review how he feeds canola and work through some example diets using AMTS.Farm.Cattle. Brittany Dyke will introduce Canola Council of Canada to viewers and provide an overview of their activities. Dr Evans and Daniel will discuss and demonstrate effective feeding strategies. As with our The Nutritionist series, the audience questions are encouraged and welcomed!
This webinar is the first in a series of three. Daniel Scothorn will be followed by Dr. Antonio Faciola, University of Florida on April 28 and Dr. Kenneth Kalscheur of the Dairy Forage Research Center in May.
The series is intended to highlight Canola meal, a coproduct of canola oilseed processing. With its high protein content, canola meal is often used as a protein supplement for dairy rations. The ingredient provides an amino acid profile that is more similar to animal proteins than other vegetable proteins, and as such is an efficient source of amino acids for lactation and growth. Canolamazing.com provides the latest research findings, accurate feeding values for canola meal, as well as the popular 2019 Canola Meal Dairy Feed Guide.
