Dr Jennifer Van Os presents on heat stress for the August The Nutritionist Webinar.
Dr Jennifer Van Os from the University of Wisconsin-Madison was the speaker for The Nutritionist August webinar on the topic of heat stress in cows and calves. Her talk focused on her current research on improving the welfare of dairy cattle by using various methods to reduce heat stress. She discussed the benefit and best methods to deliver cooling water to cattle to help lower the effective temperature for animals during warmer months. Dr Van Os’s research focuses on management practices that help improve the general care of dairy animals in the area of housing, grouping, and heat stress.
