About AMTS LLC

Who is AMTS, LLC?
Agricultural Modeling and Training Systems, LLC, is a privately owned company that was 'spun-out' of the Cornell University Ruminant Nutrition Modeling group. The three owners represent 44 years of combined experience at Cornell. President and CEO Tom Tylutki holds a PhD from Cornell and has been involved in the development and training of the original Cornell model since 1990. Vajesh Durbal (Vice-President for Development) had been the programmer for the Cornell group and was responsible for the Development of CNCPS versions 4 and 5, Cornell Cropware versions 1 and 2, and the 2001 Dairy NRC model that is included with the publication. Marketing VP and CFO Caroline Rasmussen has coordinated multiple integrated nutrient management projects at Cornell. She also had held responsibility for the Beef Farm Business Summary and had been responsible for story-boarding Cornell Cropware and CNCPS version 4. The owners of AMTS bring unique experience and skill sets to the company. It is this unique approach that we are bringing to the global animal industry resulting in the future of nutritional and environmental modeling and record-keeping.

AMTS LLC is the result of over twenty years of research at Cornell University Department of Animal Science and the dreams of a few people. With the retirement of Dr. Danny Fox (one of the original model developers of the CNCPS), people were able to re-evaluate where the model was and where it was going. It became clear to several of us that the best location for the model was in the hands of a private company that could focus on developing a commercially viable suite of applications, provide the training and support for these applications, provide nutritional and farm management education, and maintain a close working relationship with the Core Model Group at Cornell. After eighteen months of discussions, agreements were made and AMTS LLC was formed.

This business was selected as one of seven finalists in the 2005 Business Idea Competition held by the Big Red Ventures unit of the Cornell University Johnson School of Management. Over 100 business ideas were submitted and the seven finalists presented their ideas to a team of venture capitalists. While we did not win, judges commented:
"This is a very good idea but you don't need venture capital to do it. Just go and make this business happen!"
It is our mission to provide and promote integrated solutions that enhance the economic and environmental sustainability of animal agriculture and allied industries.

We will meet this mission by:
1.Developing and marketing specific software tools for our target audiences
•these tools will assist in making dairy and meat production more efficient (economically sustainable) and
•reduce potential negative environmental impacts (environmentally sustainable)
2.Provide training and support for these tools
3.Provide tools to help producers comply with reporting and record-keeping stipulations of environmental regulations (legally responsible)
4.Developing a global presence.

What are we offering?
AMTS LLC will continue to improve and expand our product line well into the future. Our initial focus was to bring a commercially viable version of CNCPS version 6.0 to market. This product is named AMTS.Cattle and it represents the latest biology from the Cornell University Department of Animal Science.
Software is not our only offering though! We also recognize the importance of Quality Training not only in software use, but in the BIOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES behind the model. Our expertise (and access to other experts at Cornell) allow us to offer advanced nutritional and farm management training worldwide. Picture this aspect of AMTS as a for-fee extension program. Also, we have expertise in QUALITY CONTROL at the mill and farm level and DATA MINING and CUSTOM APPLICATIONS for your business.

We are also pursuing external collaborations to expand our services. As a customer of AMTS, you will be made aware of these new and exciting collaborations that have not been commercially available.
Becoming one of our customers results in becoming part of the AMTS family. And with that comes customer service and a commitment to quality that no other agricultural software company can offer.
